treasures of the snow

“Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said…Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow? or hast thou seen the treaures of the hail…?…Hath the rain a father? or who hath begotten the drops of dew?…Out of whose womb came the ice? and the hoary frost of heaven, who hath gendered it?” ~ Job 38:1,22,28-29

“He giveth snow like wool; he scattereth the hoarfrost as ashes.  He casteth forth his ice like morsels; who can stand before his cold?” ~ Psalm 147:16-17

Yes, we have been having a winter ice storm.  The trees are all laden with ice and it’s been snowing this morning.  When the sun shines it’s beautiful, as if the trees are bearing crystal teardrops!

Make no mistake though, I will be very ready for God to give the earth her new spring wardrobe!

“He sendeth out his word, and melteth them…”. ~ Psalm 147:18

“For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land; The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell.” ~ Song of Solomon 2:11-13

  1. No I did not take the picture, Janie. I lost my digital camera some time back and have not replaced it yet. I was wishing for it yesterday when the sun was shining through all the icy trees!

And yes, Heather, all in God’s perfect timing. I’ve often thought of how I enjoy the fact that God chose a variety of seasons. There is something wonderful about each of them!

  2. What a lovely collection! I love the seasons as well:) But I am sooooo craving some spring time! I can’t wait to get outside again:) Though, it is nice to have the quieter time during the winter of more togetherness inside… like was said, every season has its wonderful aspects:)

And as for the pic on my header – I got tired of never having a neat picture to fit in their bizarre sizing. None of my pictures crop well enough to fit there and I am not about to get all into trying to figure it out:) I found a pic on flicker that I liked, and I searched for one that was called a “mosaic” that way, I would be guaranteed one that was horizontally long and with lots of little pictures – which is what I wanted – so that’s what I got:) I am glad you like it.
